PIN CUSHION BASKET #4, Antique Sewing Item / Woven Basket, Early 1900s

Antique SEWING ITEM -- PIN CUSHION BASKET #4 -- was likely produced in the early part of the 1900s. This early piece measures approximately 2.5 inches tall and 3.25 inches in diameter. The pin cushion has a woven bottom -- like an old basket -- with extensions off the basket acting like feet of a table. There is a velvet-covered cushion mounted on top portion -- in which pins could be stuck during sewing. I'm not sure if there originally was a decoration at the center, but if so, it is no longer present. The piece is all original, as far as I can see. Please refer to the attached images for more information on size, construction, and condition. Overall condition: Solid VG+..... The fabric portion has some light wear and mild soiling, but the basket portion is in much better shape -- complete and intact with no serious issues. ***************************************** PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT an expert on vintage sewing items. My mom -- Nancy Moran -- was a longtime collector and she especially loved sewing memorabilia and antique buttons. She is downsizing, so my brother and I am helping her sell some of her collections.
