Postage costs from Canada to the US is more expensive than sending mail from the US to Canada. Tracking is not available with standard letter mail. Therefore
all shipments are sent with tracking and fully insured.
Mail with tracking moves through the Canada Post 'business stream' and is faster (usually arriving within 8-10 business days) than standard letter mail (which, for some locations,  has been taking up to 6-7 weeks; crazy but true). The past few months I have increasingly been experiencing problems with standard letter mail taking too long — and as a result, the tracked and insured postage costs for some items may be much as, or even a few dollars more, than the cost of the item itself. Unfortunate, but that's the state of today's mail service during Covid times.
